The key to success on a musical instrument is continuous practice and improvement.  Private lessons allow individual progress to occur at a higher level.  While we spend as much time as possible with each child, we cannot accomplish what our private lesson program can and does.  Much of the success of our bands is due to our private lesson program.

            Our private lesson program is planned with school personnel so that it compliments the band program.  Not only are previously taught skills reinforced, but also new, more advanced skills are introduced and refined.  With classes so large and these being the foundational years, lessons help students develop and maintain good habits from the beginning.  Early success on the instruments makes for lasting success.  Usually, over 70% of our students study privately at Space Center.

             Lessons take place once a week and last half an hour.  Lessons are scheduled with the private teacher based on which days they teach at our school.  Most lessons are taught in the band hall at Space Center Intermediate.

              Many of you have already enrolled in the private lesson program and are scheduled for lessons.  Now is an excellent time to enroll in the program if you are not currently participating.  We are in the process of scheduling private lessons for this school year.  In order to determine the number of students that plan to take lessons this year, please return the private lesson enrollment forms.  The Clear Creek ISD Private Lesson Handbook and Enrollment Form has been given to your child.  For your child to be enrolled in the private lesson program, you will need to fill out the enrollment form and return it to the band hall.  Students are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.  Please call if you have any questions at 281-284-3386.  Thank you for your time and consideration.
